Transponder-Repairs.com is owned and managed by me; Shaun Finch. I am an electronic engineer. I spent the first 15 years of my career commissioning RADAR and weapon systems on Navy ships.
I have been involved in motorsport, racing motorbikes, from the mid-90s to 2007. During that time I designed one of the first “speed shifters” for clutch-less gear changes.
In 2011, my son Jack was 8, we both started karting. I found there was a requirement for a professional and reliable service to repair the AMB160 transponders used in karting. Initially I just offered the service to local racers, but quickly expanded to carry out repairs for racers and tracks throughout the UK and internationally.
We now repair thousands of transponders a year from the UK, EU, USA, Canada and many other countries. We now also repair AMB130, AMB140, AMB160, AMB260, TAG and CHRONELEC transponders.
We try to be a “green” as possible. Repairing transponders is better for the environment than buying new. We correctly dispose of the old batteries so they do not end up in landfill. Also our office & workshop are solar powdered.
I am a true “petrol head.” At the age of 17 I was tuning my first car, a Mini. I have competed in motorbike racing, karting and car racing. Recently I built a Hayabusa turbo powered car, which is being used on track days and maybe used in sprints, hill climbs, autosolos and even on the road. Unsurprisingly I am also designing electronic systems for this car.
